Norendal, 20, was removed from the Olympic village on Monday to prevent her from infecting other athletes with her flu-like illness, and prescribed a course of antibiotics.
"She has a cold with a slight fever, but I hope she will be able to snowboard when the quarter-final comes on Thursday," Marit Norendal, the athlete's mother, told The Local. "She got a dose of antibiotics. She may already be training now, but I don’t know."
According to Norway's Laagendalsposten newspaper, another of Norway's snowboard squad, Gjermund Bråthen, is also unwell.
A third snowboarder, Torstein Horgmo, was hospitalized on Monday after a crash in training.
