PARLIAMENT

President of Storting forgets who’s PM

Labour leader Jens Stoltenberg certainly made an impression on Norway during his eight consecutive years leading Norway, so much so in fact that the president of Norway's parliament appears to think he's still the Prime Minister.

During parliamentary question time on Wednesday, Olemic Thommessen, the president of the Storting, as the Norwegian parliament is known, called on the former leader to speak.

"Statsminister Stolten…" he began before correcting himself, "no, Jens Stoltenberg," to stifled giggles.

"Thank you very much, Mr. President. That's very touching," Stoltenberg said before giving his answer.

Thommessen, a veteran parliamentarian from Norway's Conservative Party, was appointed president of the Storting in October at the start of Norway's new government.
