Billed as “an untraditional look at motherhood and how we see maternal figures and strong women in queer culture”, Cho’s European ‘Mother’ tour is described by the comedienne as her edgiest show to date, touching on race issues, drugs, and sexuality.
The San Francisco native is especially excited about performing in Zurich, a city which she describes as “exotic and glamorous” where she imagines everyone to be “fabulous”.
“I am thinking that Swiss people would all be very wealthy and very chic – this is the American stereotype for Switzerland,” Cho tells The Local.
“Also, I picture everyone wearing a giant fur hat and diamonds like Elizabeth Taylor, so it will be fun to see if anyone is like that!”
One thing’s for sure, though: the comedienne says she is planning a specially-tailored show for her Swiss audience.
“I want to do a special show for every audience everywhere every night — it’s my talent and my favourite thing.”
Zurich locals may also catch a glimpse of Cho out shopping as she hopes to snap up a Swiss watch during her visit.
“I really want to buy a watch," she says.
"I don’t have one! This will be the perfect place to get one.”
But above all, the self-confessed “tummy tourist” says she can’t wait to sink her teeth into some Swiss cheese and chocolate.
