Mauro Pinnelli, 27, was sentenced to five years and six months for the attack on a group of Tottenham supporters at the Drunken Ship bar in Rome's central Campo de' Fiori square ahead of an Europa league game between Tottenham and Lazio.
Fellow ringleader Francesco Ianari, 28, was sentenced to fours years and five months, Corriere della Sera reported.
The group “burst in, throwing smoke bombs and suffocating gas to neutralize the reaction of the victims,” investigators were quoted in Corriere as saying.
They came prepared, wielding knives, bats, sticks and chair legs, the newspaper said.
Ten Tottenham fans were injured in the attack and Pinnelli and Ianari were arrested for attempted murder.
The cost of damages to the Drunken Ship was estimated at €18,000.
