The decision was announced by the Serie A sports judge, Gianpaolo Tosel, in a statement on Tuesday.
Tosel slammed the fans for “shouts and chants of racial discrimination” against two Juventus players, during the 1-1 draw on September 14th.
In addition to having a section of the stadium closed to fans for the game against Fiorentina on September 26th, Tosel also fined the club €15,000.
Inter fans were also criticized for pointing lasers at the referee and Juventus players and unfurling a banner insulting the team’s coach.
When contacted by The Local, Inter was not immediately available for comment.
The fans’ chants come weeks after AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli criticized the way racism is handled in football.
Last season Balotelli walked off the pitch when he became a victim of racist abuse, although said he feels unable to do the same again as his team will be punished.
Italian football has long since been marred by racism, although there are signs that authorities and clubs are tackling the problem.
