The northern loop of the RER B train, which runs between Paris and its northern suburbs, including Charles de Gaulle airport, is set to be shut from Wednesday night until Sunday, causing delays to weekend travellers.

Four days of large-scale renovation of the signalling system on the northern loop means the last train taking passengers from Paris Gare du Nord to Charles de Gaulle airport and the suburb of Mitry-Claye will depart at 10.36 pm on Wednesday.

The last train from the airport to the French capital will depart at 10.47 pm.

From that time until Saturday, trains from Paris will stop at la Plaine-Stade de France, where the B5 bus will take passengers as far as the airport.

Rail operator SNCF recommends taking the B5 bus from terminal 2B of Charles de Gaulle airport, in the direction of the city, and warns travellers it should take at least one and a half hours to travel between the airport and Paris – 40 minutes more than usual.

From 4pm on Saturday, the RER B should start running again between La Plaine-Stade de France and Mitry-Claye, but those wishing to go to or from the airport will have to take a bus to or from the Aulnay-sous-Bois station until Monday morning.
