Jobs, who died of cancer in October 2011, paid €97m for the vessel (see video), which was intended to be used for family sailing trips.

Designed by Philippe Starck, the 78-meter boat, called Venus, after the Roman God, has the “unmistakable style of the Apple guru”, with the “sleek and minimalist” design including seven 27-inch iMac computers, Il Secolo XIX reported.

The yacht was completed last year after five years in the works but was impounded in Amsterdam in December due to a dispute over an unpaid bill to Starck.

Starck said he had received just €6m out of the €9m he was owed for the job. The dispute was later resolved and the boat was free to set sail.

The yacht was built by Royal De Vries shipbuilders in Aalsmeer, south of Amsterdam. At its unveiling in October, the Jobs family gave iPod Shuffle mp3 players to each of the crew members.
