France is hardly short on options when it comes to fine dining but have you ever wondered what are the creme de la creme of the country's restaurants?
Well the results of the World's 50 Best Restaurant awards for 2013, which were revealed on Monday night, should be a good pointer.
Although Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca, in the city of Gerona scooped the gong for Worl'd Best Restaurant, France had six diners placed in the top 50, the highest of which came in at 16.
The results are not to be sniffed at either as they are based on the opinions of around 900 of the world's top chefs and critics.
