Police couldn't believe their eyes when they found the inebriated robber fast asleep on the couch of a bar in Majorca’s capital Palma at 9am on Tuesday morning.
The 50-year-old man had set the alarm off when he used a barstool to break the window and climb into the pub, online newspaper Ultima Hora reported.
Soon after the man had begun ransacking the bar, he decided to curl up on a sofa and take a nap.
By the time police and the bar owner had arrived at the scene of the crime, they found the man snoring away on the couch.
When they searched the inebriated man, police found several top-of-the-range mobile phones, credit cards, lipstick and numerous make-up cases.
“I was so drunk I don't know what I was doing," the man told police.
"I've got no idea how I ended up sleeping on that couch.”
