A driver spotted the blue bag with its grisly contents while waiting at a red light on Tuesday evening.
“She saw bones sticking out of the bag, which was on the embankment behind the guardrail, and contacted the police,” said a police spokesman.
The city’s homicide unit hurried to the stretch of route B76 to examine the large sack with the mostly skeletal human remains. As of early Wednesday morning, the age and gender of the person, as well as how he or she died, were still undetermined.
“We have to wait to see what the coroner finds out,” the spokesman said.
