Man charged over hidden camera sex film scandal

A 22-year-old man who secretly filmed a staff-bathroom romp with a female colleague was charged with attempted blackmail on Tuesday after he threatened to show her family the video if she didn’t pay him.

The ex-employee of the company had secretly recorded a sexual encounter with the 35-year-old woman in the staff bathroom of their work place in Malmö, southern Sweden, during the summer.

The woman, who was unaware of the filming, was soon promoted and told her ex-lover that they couldn’t share any similar moments of passion in the future.

However, the man responded with a text containing images from the video and threatened to share the whole film with the woman’s relatives if she did not cooperate with his demands of six months salary or 50,000 kronor ($7,500) in cash, according to the Skånska Dagbladet newspaper.

Furthermore, he demanded that the woman tell her own boss that he was working as normal, even when he intended to take the time off.

“If you risk it, you’ll see what happens,” he told the woman, according to the paper.

He added that he “knew how important her daughter was to her” and that if she contacted police, he “had people around him”, statements the woman considered to be threats, according to the Expressen newspaper.

When the 22-year-old increased his demand to include both the salary and the cash, the woman managed to record the conversation, which she later showed police as evidence.

During an interrogation, the man denied the threats or that he had had sex with his colleague, but soon confessed.

He has now been charged with attempted blackmail.
