Cui Luchao, who came to Toulouse to finish his doctorate in chemistry, disappeared on July 13 this year.
His fully-dressed body was found in woods in the Lozère region, 260 km from the city of Toulouse, this weekend.
A document found on his body suggests he wanted to go to the Stevenson road – named after Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson, who crossed the Cévennes mountains, part of which are in Lozère, by donkey in 1878.
