“She has chosen to prioritize Princess Estelle, the trip would have been too tough to make with such a small child,” said Royal Court spokesperson Bertil Ternert according to a report in the Aftonbladet daily.

The trip will however go ahead without the heir to the Swedish throne. Victoria’s brother Prince Carl-Phillip, and husband Prince Daniel, are scheduled to arrive in London on Monday afternoon.
Bertil Ternert sought to play down the significance of Princess Victoria’s decision.
“It is the case with all other families with small children,” he said.
Princess Estelle is the daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel and is the second in line to the Swedish throne.
Born on February 23rd 2012, Princess Estelle also carries the title of Duchess of Östergötland.
The Swedish royal family have a long tradition of supporting the Swedish team at the Olympics and other major sporting events.
In fact the reigning King Carl XVI Gustaf met Queen Silvia at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. The then Sylvia Sommarlath was working at the games as an interpreter and hostess.
