Police received a call shortly after 10pm that a rehabilitation centre worker had been beaten and two patients were at large with a large amount of stolen prescription drugs near Härnösand in northern Sweden.
According to local paper Allehanda, the orderly had been giving the patients their evening medicine when he was attacked. He was reportedly dragged by two of the patients into another room where he was viciously beaten with a baseball bat.
After beating the orderly, the two men tied him up, emptied the medicine cabinet and took off with its contents.
The men allegedly tried to steal a car outside the centre but were unsuccessful and left the area on foot.
Both men, born in -81 and -86, are under suspicion for aggravated assault. It is not known how serious the orderly’s injuries are but he was taken to hospital shortly after the incident’s discovery.
However, police were able to apprehend the two men over night.
“We are very pleased with that. We brought them in shortly after 7.30am,“ said Per-Erik Olsson of the local police to the paper on Wednesday morning.
