Saturday should be dry for most – good news for those hoping to catch Germany’s opening Euro 2012 game against Portugal on an open-air screen.
Scattered showers are possible in the morning, but only Bavarians and mountain-dwellers should expect prolonged downpours. Clouds will dominate, with the east once again having the better of the temperatures – highs of 23 degrees Celsius besting the west’s 17.
Saturday night could see rain in the early hours for the western border regions. It will be a cool night, with temperatures between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius.
Sunday poses a greater threat of rain across the country. The day will begin with isolated showers over the south-eastern and coastal edges of the country, with a heavier band of rain beginning in the west and working its way eastwards as the day progresses.

The west could also see thunderstorms. It is, at least, forecast to be mild, with highs ranging from 18 degrees Celsius in the west to 23 in the east.
Clouds will move in during Sunday night, bringing with them thundery showers in some areas. The temperatures are forecast to be exactly the same as Saturday night.
Monday looks set to be changeable, with heavy cloud and occasional showers interspersed with sunny intervals. Temperatures are once again predicted to hover around 20 degrees.
The week ahead, said Dorothea Pätzold of the DWD, will probably offer more of the same – frequent showers, but fair periods and moderate temperatures – as a low pressure area moves in from the Atlantic to replace the one currently hovering over the UK.
