Tattoo convention leaves a mark on Frankfurt

Frankfurt buzzed with the sound of electric needles over the weekend as tattoo artists from all over the world gathered for the 2012 International Convention, to enjoy colourful body art and a healthy dose of naked flesh.

Around 600 artists from over 20 countries showed their best work at the convention, which started in 1992 and has grown each year. Tattoo model and burlesque dancer Miss Sabrina Kelly was there to celebrate the fair’s 10th birthday.

One of the biggest names was Japanese artist Horikazuwaka, who came with a retinue of 10 models covered in his ancient Japanese-style tattoos.

Visitors were also treated to live music and a tattoo catwalk, and for those who didn’t fancy going under the needle there were over 70 stands selling jewellery and clothing.
