Swedish teen girl offered job as ‘man-eater’

When 19-year-old Felicia Schenholm updated her CV, she was called up the very next day by the company Balder Tech, who offered her a job at a call center, reported newspaper Aftonbladet.

“He said it was like customer service. People could call up and want to talk about all sorts of things,” said Felicia Schenholm to the newspaper.

In Balder Tech’s advertisements, customers are promised, “100 percent super girls. We’ll give you what you’re longing for. You won’t be disappointed.”

When Felicia Schenholm arrived at Balder Tech’s Stockholm premises on her first day of work, the company’s recruiter described the work as answering “dating phone lines”.

“I spoke to four men, and all of them talked about sex,” Felicia Schenholm said to Aftonbladet.

She was profiled under the name “man-eater, small, blonde and cute”.

According to the newspaper, one caller told her he “needed help coming”. Another was a new pensioner, who wanted to meet a girl.

“After 50 minutes of this I felt that it was too awful, and that I didn’t want to work with this sort of thing.”

The Swedish National Employment Office confirm that Felicia Schenström’s experience isn’t unique. With the massive size of their database, the office is unable to control what sort of companies register on their website.

“This is a problem, and it’s terrible. We have such large volumes, and there’s no way of checking all of them,” Eva-Lisa Höglund, department manager at the Swedish National Employment Office, told Aftonbladet.

Balder Tech deny running a phone-sex business.

“We’ve been doing this for a long time, and are about as serious as you can get in this business. They aren’t allowed to talk about sex with eachother,” said CEO Daniel Frid to Aftonbladet.
