The controversial materials, which sparked a media storm earlier in January, reference strategies known as ”Petra”, ”Jennifer” and ”Sofia”, and were devised by the coach to show the boys on the FBC Engelholm floorball team how to play in various circumstances.
According to the strategies, referred to as ”hot babes on defence” (Snygga brudar i försvaret), “Sofia” is “hot and sexy” and likes to ”dress provocatively” and ”help herself in bed”.
”By snogging and feeling up Sofa at the right moment we will reach the optimum result,” the notes read.
”In bed, you can rip her clothes and spank her bottom.”
“Petra” meanwhile, “scratches, bites and likes to dominate” and “gets in the mood when you are aggressive”.
Media reports about the coaching tactics prompted a barrage of criticism against the coach’s methods.
”This is without a doubt sexist material and completely against what the sports movement stands for,” Swedish floorball association’s chairperson Jane Andersson told Sveriges Television (SVT) at the time.
While the coach was suspended shortly after his materials became public pending an internal investigation by FBC Engelholm, he has now been reported to the police on suspicion of disturbing the public order (brott mot allmän ordning), the publication Feministiskt Perspektiv (FP) reports.
According to FP, the complaint was filed by another floorball coach and father who urged police to carry out a search of the suspected coach’s home as “it’s clear one can suspect that more serious crimes or assaults against minors may have occurred”.
Detective Håkan Lund with the Helsingborg police told the newspaper a preliminary investigation is underway.
“We’re going to work according to our procedures, but there are special laws when it involves young people. Among other things, that entails expedited processing and we’re going to take the necessary steps,” he said.
According to Ulf Sylwander, chair of FBC Engelholm, the club plans to incorporate the results of the police investigation in the club’s own investigation before taking any further action against the coach.
