Three days later he went to send the winning ticket off for verification, bought another one to celebrate – and won again.

“I really couldn’t believe my eyes, “ said Christensen to The Local.

When he contacted Sweden’s gaming monopoly Svenska Spel, which operates the Triss scratch game, staff said it had never happened before that someone scraped off two wins in such a short time.

“Previously we have had someone win twice within seven months and that was pretty amazing – but we have never experienced anything within this short time span,” confirmed Pierre Jonsson of Svenska Spel to The Local.

Only five tickets in each printed series of two million gives the winner a chance to go on TV for the big win.

And it has only ever happened seven times that a previous winner won again, so staff at Svenska Spel was just as surprised as Christensen.

“We had just registered his first win and booked him in to appear on TV when he called us back and said it had happened again,” Jonsson said.

Christensen who is assured of at least 100,000 kronor, will now get to go on national television at the end of the month to see if he collects the big win of 5 million kronor. Twice.

“It is the first time in Triss’s history that someone gets to scratch two lottery tickets, one after the other, on national TV. Which makes it especially exciting,” said Jonsson to The Local.

But according to Christensen he will be happy with the already secured 100,000 kronor.

“What I am going to do with it? I am not sure yet, we shall see,” said Christensen adding that he still found it had to believe that he had won.

“I haven’t always been lucky in my life so it was about time, “ he told The Local.
