The German Weather Service (DWD) said on Monday that temperatures would cheer up enormously over the coming 48 hours or so, to reach highs of up to 29 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. This would not be long-lasting though.
From Tuesday the outlook across the country should be mostly dry, even though some areas will be overcast, with top temperatures between 18 and 26 degrees, although on the low side of that in the central mountains and towards the Alps.
Wednesday will start off cloudy in northern regions, with showers possible particularly on the coast. The south will be summer-like, with clear skies and sunny conditions, leading to temperatures between 24 and 29 degrees.

That sunshine will be found further eastward on Thursday, but clouds will soon follow, with showers to be expected heading towards the northeast, followed by storms. Before the rain, temperatures should be up to 28 degrees in the south and between 20 and 25 in the north.
This will push the temperatures down to between 15 and 18 degrees. Even the southern and eastern regions are likely to be hit by storms and showers on Thursday night.
