Around 2am on Monday morning three men allegedly entered the Rosengård flat by force rendering one of the men there helpless by spraying him in the face with teargas, beating up another and finally removing one man from the flat by force.
After interviewing the men left behind in the apartment the police had no clear picture as to why the man was kidnapped. His friends said that they did not recognize the assailants and had no idea why they targeted their flat.
“According to the men left in the flat there is no connection between them and the perpetrators,” said Per Robertz of the local police to newspaper Sydsvenskan.
The incident was treated as abduction by the police who on Monday morning put all their resources into locating the man.
“This is a very very serious crime. It is our top priority today,” Robertz told the paper on Monday morning.
He was discovered when the police stopped a car outside of Jönköping, 295 kilometers north of Malmö, later on Monday morning. Two of his kidnappers were also in the car, according to local media reports.
