Final words of missing murder suspect

Missing Nantes murder suspect Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès left a voicemail message for his sister, Christine, shortly before his disappearance, it has been revealed.

RTL has broadcast the phone message left by the missing Nantes man, shortly before it is believed his wife and four children were murdered. Police have been hunting de Ligonnès since he was last seen on 15th April.

In the message, left just after 10.30pm on 3rd April, the 50-year old businessman sounds relaxed. He says “the whole family has been to the cinema and then to a restaurant.” At the end of the message he asks her to send him an SMS if she’s still up and adds “I’m going to put the children to bed. Say goodnight to everyone. See you soon, perhaps.”

Christine Dupont de Ligonnès believes the message casts doubt on whether her brother is guilty.

He was last seen in Roquebrune-sur-Argens. Since then, police have been alerted to hundreds of sightings but none have been successful.
