In a written statement, police said the woman was 31 and had multiple stab wounds when she was found by officers Monday evening. The police had been called to her Liebigstraße home after neighbours heard a “loud dispute,” the statement said.
Rescuers tried to save the woman but failed, according to the police.
The victim’s 27-year-old husband was arrested and police were investigating why he might have killed his wife.
The Berliner Morgenpost newspaper reported that the victim had been stabbed directly in her stomach and was in her 20th week of pregnancy when she died.
She had lived on Liebigstraße for three years and is survived by two children, the newspaper wrote.
