“Temperatures will rise on Tuesday to between 18 to 24 degrees Celsius and will hit 20 to 26 degrees from Wednesday,” said DWD meteorologist Stefan Külzer in a statement.
But coastal areas will remain somewhat cooler in the coming days, seeing temperatures between 15 and 18 degrees, Külzer said.
The sunny and warm weather is being pushed towards Germany by a high pressure system that is stationary over Scandinavia and sending mostly dry air to the country.
The warming trend should continue from Good Friday to Easter Monday as temperatures are set to hit a balmy 27 degrees in some parts of the country.
Southern Germany, however, will have to deal with the strong possibility of thunderstorms, especially on Easter Monday.
