“He denies all knowledge,” the man’s attorney, Margareta Arvidsson, told the TT news agency.
Starting at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon, the 23-year-old was questioned by police for nearly four hours.
“He received a number of detailed questions about where he was when these (crimes) took place,” said Arvidsson.
Further questioning of the man is expected to take place on Wednesday morning.
According to Arvidsson, her client has been informed of the suspicions against him for two rapes and three attempted rapes.
In the last five years, several women have been attacked in Örebro and the 23-year-old is suspected of having carried out a number of the attacks.
He was arrested Monday evening in Örebro. Police said on Tuesday that forensic evidence ties him to several of the attacks.
However, police won’t reveal exactly how many attacks the 23-year-old is believed to be involved in.
The man has no previous criminal record.
