Skarsgård, who is the eldest son of Mamma Mia star Stellan Skarsgård, has responded to the call of Bajen Aid, the campaign to raised funds for the crisis-hit Stockholm club.

“Bajen Aid is organizing a live auction in Stockholm on October 2nd in order to try to raise some money and hopefully save our beloved little football club Hammarby,” Skarsgård wrote in a statement on his webpage on Friday calling on others to show their support.

“If anyone happens to be in Stockholm that day, put on your Hammarby jersey,” the 34-year-old heartthrob said.

Bajen Aid on Friday published a list of the items which will go under the hammer, held by Weeping Willows’ crooner Magnus Carlsson.

The items include various Hammarby related memorabilia such as the quilted jacket worn by coach Sören Cratz when Hammarby won the Swedish championship against Örgryte on October 21st 2001. The jacket comes “unwashed, including grass stains” according to the auction catalogue.

There are several items originating from the 2001 season, Hammarby’s first and to date only championship success. The club is now languishing mid-table in Sweden’s “Superettan” second division and has been hit hard by a dip in transfer revenue and by its relegation from the top flight in 2009.

There are furthermore a couple of footballing items of international interest, including an AC Milan match jersey signed by Brazilian star Kaká, donated by current coach ex-Manchester United star Jesper Blomqvist.

Aside from the football related lots there are also a slew of items donated by local Stockholm businesses, such as a 37 inch television, two bedside lamps from the “mid-1980s”, and a Sony Ericsson mobilephone.

Alexander Skarsgård plans to be among those attending the auction which will take place at the Hovet arena in southern Stockholm on Saturday October 2nd at 12.45pm.
