“The Pentecost weekend will be sunny and above all, warmer,” DWD meteorologist Dorothea Paetzold said in a statement. “High pressure system ‘Siegbert’ has entered Germany, bringing sunshine and summery temperatures, in the southwest at least.”
Though the North Sea coast will remain mostly cloudy on Saturday, the rest of the country will be sunny. Later in the day scattered showers could visit the eastern and southeastern regions. High temperatures will range between a balmy 19 and 24 degrees, though coastal areas may be a bit cooler, Paetzold said.
Sunday will dawn with localised fog expected to dissipate as the day goes on and temperatures reach between 17 and 25 degrees, with the warmest highs expected in the south. Coastal areas will likely remain a bit cooler with some cloud cover, the meteorologist predicted.
The Pentecost holiday, or Whit Monday, will bring more sunshine and heat for the south, where temperatures will top out at 27 degrees. But northern and central regions will be cloudier with some rain showers, Paetzold said. In those areas temperatures will be slightly cooler, reaching between 15 and 20 degrees.
