“The non-socialists are a guarantee for orderly and well-managed public finances, because this is the condition of well-being,” the Minister for International Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson said.
The opposition, which is made up of the Social Democrat, Green and Left parties, are due to announce their electoral programme in a few days, based on a significant increase in public spending, financed in part by higher taxes.
“Prioritising work on benefits, good management of public finances … concentrating on youth and staying at the cutting edge of the fight against climate change” are the coalition’s policy objectives, Carlsson said.
In a survey published on May 6, the four-party coalition was ahead with 49.2 percent voter support against 47.4 percent for the opposition.
