The second Icelandic cloud of ash to spread over Europe has now covered northern Spain as well as France, and forced the cancellation of all flights to Bilbao and Barcelona.
A spokesman for Frankfurt airport also said that the cloud is causing delays to air traffic to and from the US, as airplanes fly detours around the cloud. The cloud is also moving north of Britain over the Atlantic Ocean.
Another ash cloud from Eyjafjallajökull’s eruption caused Germany’s air traffic to be shut down for several days in mid-April.
