In a letter reporting the incident to the Swedish Work Environment Authority (Arbetsmiljöverket), the principal of Strömbacka school in Piteå explains that he received a phone call from the girl’s mother earlier this month.
The concerned parent said the girl was treated for her injuries at the local emergency ward following the cartwheel event on December 22nd, a day on which temperatures in the town hovered around -13 degrees Celsius.
“This type of event will not be permitted next year,” wrote the principal, whose pupils range in age from 16 to 19. He also noted that all events on Student Union Day must receive his advance approval.
The girl’s mother assured the principal that her daughter had since made a fully recovery.
