The German Weather Service (DWD) said on Saturday that serious traffic problems could result in some areas as thick snow and ice could combine to produce difficult conditions.
Northeast of the Elbe River should expect snowfall, while the western half of the country would largely get rain in the morning.
Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria in the south are likely to have rain or snow continuing most of the day – more likely snow the further east one is.
Top temperatures are expected to be between minus three degrees Celsius in Pomerania and up to five degrees along the lower Rhineland.
Thick clouds will provide cover during Sunday night, snowing over parts of the east and south of the country, but not stopping temperatures remaining below freezing.
Clouds will stay during Monday, producing some snow in eastern regions. Temperatures will creep up to zero, and even reach up to five degrees in the west. The week will start off largely cloudy with some snow or rain and temperatures between minus four and two degrees.
