Jonsson proved deserving of her world number one ranking on Wednesday by clocking 43min 01sec with one penalty for a missed target to finish 22 seconds ahead of compatriot Anna-Carin Olofsson-Zidek, with Darya Domracheva of Belarus third at 1min 16sec.
It is the fourth world success for the 25-year-old who won here last year, and the first time that Swedes took the top two spots in a world cup event.
“It’s great. Now we can share the pressure,” Jonsson told Sveriges Television (SVT).
Jonsson’s win comes a day after was awarded with the esteemed Bragdguldet sports award by the Svenska Dagbladet (SvD) newspaper.
In winning the award, given out each annually to honour the year’s top athletic feat, the biathlete beat out a host of other formidable Swedish stars such as footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, tennis star Robin Söderling, and swimmer Sarah Sjöström.
“It almost can’t be any better. Obviously yesterday brought me positive feelings,” Jonsson said of her back-to-back Bragdguldet and world cup wins.
