The police said the truck was on its way from Münster to Pforzheim when it drove off the right shoulder of the motorway. As the driver – who is thought to have dozed off – tried to regain control, the vehicle carrying 24 young bulls flipped.
A dozen of the animals escaped from the wreckage and began to wander around the motorway, forcing the police to play cowboy as they rustled them together towards a nearby parking lot.
A few of the bulls suffered slight injuries in the accident, but all were eventually loaded into other trucks. The 53-year-old driver was unharmed.
