Winds from the south will bring milder weather to the country, with double-digit temperatures during the day and frost-free nights, the DWD said from its headquarters in Offenbach.
Friday is expected to be overcast and soggy in the north, while in the south, particularly the Black Forest and along the Danube River, mist and rain with set in. Western Germany will be significantly sunnier than the rest of the country. High temperatures will range between 7 degrees Celsius in the northeast to 15 degrees along the Rhine River.
Meanwhile fog is expected on Saturday with rain showers in the north. By afternoon rain will also set in to the west. Despite the damp, temperatures between 10 and 15 degrees Celsius will make weekend ramblers a bit more comfortable than the previous weeks’ highs.
Rain will likely continue overnight and through Sunday across much of Germany, with high temperatures expected to reach 11 degrees Celsius in the northeast, and 18 degrees in the upper Rhine region.
