Police were alerted at 00.30 and found the man on Ramels väg, in the Rosengård district of the city. First reports suggested he had been stabbed but later it was revealed he had been shot in the head.
The surrounding area of was condoned off for forensic investigation and police found the second female victim in a car parked outside Västra Skrävlinge church.
She had also been shot in the head and later died at the city’s University Hospital MAS. The man’s condition is reported to be serious.
”We are currently conducting rounds of questioning,” said Calle Persson from Skåne police. “As investigators continue examining the car we will see whether they can find any traces from the shooting.”
The man was found in a conscious state but was unable to be questioned. ”He is known to the police,” Persson added. ”We are doing further investigations into the man’s background but the woman isn’t known to us.”
Police have yet to confirm whether the two incidents are connected but say they do not suspect any gang-related involvement in the shootings.
”We are speaking to witnesses and friends to find clues leading to a possible motive,” Persson said.
