Swedish Easter snaps lovers crave company of Mede or Nyqvist

Close to one third of the male participants in the survey reported they would opt to drink their Easter snaps with comedian Petra Mede, while actor Mikael Nykvist was the number one drinking partner of choice among 36 percent of the female respondents. Daniel Westling and Linda Rosing were the least attractive options.

Swedes hold their snaps almost as sacred as the Americans do their Thanksgiving turkey. A recent survey reports that Swedes think snaps should only be thrown back on traditional holidays.

Few can imagine drinking snaps as an everyday beverage (2%) or even as an accoutrement to a regular weekend meal (16%). There are only three occasions where Swedes think snaps is appropriate: Christmas (55%), Midsummer (75%) and Easter (55%). Only 1% can imagine sipping snaps at lunch.

So given the social nature of the snaps game, who would be your ideal drinking companion?

Petra Mede topped the men’s list (33 percent), followed by Princess Victoria (20 percent), Centre Party leader Maud Olofsson (17 percent), actress Noomi Rapace (14 percent) and finally, former Big Brother star Linda Rosing, who was only chosen by 5 percent of respondents.

The women would prefer to partake of their Easter snaps with Mikael Nyqvist (36 percent) followed by Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt (21 percent), singer Måns Zelmerlöw (16 percent), TV personality Steffo Törnquist (15 percent) and last, but not least, prince in waiting Daniel Westling (3 percent).
