Ikea’s ‘Embrace Change ’09’ campaign also extended an invitation to the Obamas to redesign and furnish any rooms in the White House with the help of the company’s own team of designers.
Ikea said its Oval Office replica would enable commuters to take a seat in the bustling station and experience real change first hand.
A guestbook signed by visitors to the mock office would eventually be delivered to the White House, the company said.
On a campaign website designed to coincide with Obama’s inauguration, Ikea urged customers to suggest “fiscally responsible home furnishings” for the new president.
