Let’s Dance swings into action

One of Sweden's most popular television shows has its season premiere on Friday evening, with viewers expected to tune in en masse to watch celebrities shake their stuff on Let's Dance.

Over the coming weeks, twelve contestants will team up with professional dancers as they prepare to rumba, waltz, jive and quickstep their way into the living rooms of the nation.

As has become customary, the live broadcast will be hosted by David Hellenius and Jessica Almenäs, while this season’s dancers include popular blogger Isabella “Blondinbella” Löwengrip, the world’s strongest man Magnus Samuelsson, Idol jury member Laila Bagge, interestingly coiffured political reporter Elisabet Höglund and former glamour model Magdalena Graaf.

Not only do the dancers have to impress the jury – including its English chairman, dancer Tony Irving – they also have to dance their way into viewers hearts to avoid being unceremoniously dumped off the show.

A trio of blondes – Blondinbella, Bagge and Graaf – have established themselves as the favourites with bookmaker Expekt as the first of twelve episodes gets ready to air on Friday evening at 8pm on TV4.
