The broadcaster’s programming of hate against Jews and disdain for Israel’s right to statehood violates international understanding and is unconstitutional in Germany, the paper reported.
There will be no measures beyond the ban against the station, run by terrorist organization Hezbollah, because it has no infrastructure in Germany.
In June, Germany banned a Kurdish television station based in Denmark, calling it a “mouthpiece” of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). Roj TV had been available via satellite in Germany.
The PKK is considered a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the United States and the European Union and was banned in Germany — home to some 2.5 million people of Turkish origin — in 1993.
