The 25-year-old announced in March she would not be competing in the seven-discipline event at the Beijing Olympic Games having won the gold medal in Athens.
After winning world championships gold medals in Paris (2003), Helsinki (2005) and Osaka (2007) in the heptathlon, the Swede wants to concentrate purely on the jumping events.
“I am finished with the heptathlon,” she told Zeit magaine.
“I am grateful for this experience, but now I feel tired.”
But the Swede is not considered a medal prospect in the triple-jump and is looking for experience in Beijing.
“The triple-jump is a completely new discipline for me, I can it try out and see how far I can go,” she said.
