Several neighbours sounded the alarm when they heard shots being fired near their apartment building. When police arrived on the scene they found a man lying on the ground with bullet wounds in the stomach. Police believe he has probably been shot with a hand gun.
The wounded man was rushed to Malmö University Hospital (MAS), where he was scheduled to undergo an operation on Friday morning. His injuries, while serious, are not life-threatening.
“We are classifying the incident as attempted murder,” said Peter Martin at Skåne police.
Only a couple of weeks ago another man was shot repeatedly in the Malmö suburb of Persborg.
“We do not know if this incident has any connection to the previous shooting,” said Martin.
