Both airlines will see their pilots walk off the job at starting at noon and the strike will last until midnight, according to the union. The pay negotiations are not connected to wage talks being held for Lufthansa ground and cabin personnel.
A strike two weeks ago caused more than 600 flights to be cancelled. The two airlines primarily operate domestic German and short-haul European flights. They have together around 1,000 pilots.
Cockpit said flights would be affected at airports in Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hannover, Stuttgart, Berlin-Tegel, Leipzig and Hamburg.
