Sahlin would ‘tear up’ snoop law if elected

“If it’s the proposal which was in the Riksdag, we’ll just tear it up and change the legislation,” she said to Sveriges Television.

Sahlin added that she wanted to see an increased control for citizens and a tightening up of what the Sweden National Defence Radio Establishment (FRA) is seeking.

“So they aren’t just sticking their finger in cables to see what they find, but are looking for what can be seen as suspicion of a crime,” she said.

Left Party leader Lars Ohly had earlier told the TT news agency that he will tear up the law should there be a change in government and that he has told Mona Sahlin of his plans.
