More snow on its way to central Sweden

Although forecasts indicate a sunny day across most of Sweden on Saturday, the Swedish meteorological agency SMHI warned that the wintry weather is not quite over for the year.

“More snow could fall during Friday evening. Monday is also looking colder. After that the weather should be more stable and become warmer,” said Jonas Höglund, a meteorologist at SMHI.

SMHI however published its final ‘snow map’ of Sweden for the season already on Friday as the only remaining areas of Sweden blanketed by snow are in the northern fell areas.

For those keen to escape the recent colder weather SMHI forecasts suggest that the coastal areas around Öland and Gotland will have the greatest chance of sunny summer weather this weekend.
