Several hundred fans cheered the film’s stars Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis as they walked across a pink carpet at Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz. Joined by director Michael Patrick King, the ladies in high heels took plenty of time for autographs and interviews.

Waving from a balcony, Parker shouted to the crowd: “Ich bin ein Berliner.”

King was also overwhelmed by the reception in the German capital, proclaiming, “tonight it’s sex and the city in Berlin.”

Cattrall even managed to flatter the Germans with a few words in their own tongue, explaining that it was a “fantastic time” to make the film. “I hope you can feel that.”

The movie will hit German cinemas on May 29.

The award-winning TV series about four sex and fashion obsessed New Yorkers aired in Germany from September 2001 to December 2004. But broadcaster ProSieben cancelled the reruns in 2006 after only a few weeks due to disappointing ratings.
