The woman was seriously injured in the attack and is still being treated at Uppsala University Hospital. For the first two weeks after the incident, she was kept under heavy sedation.
She finally woke up just over a week ago but police were not able to speak to her until Friday.
“That is correct, but I don’t want to go into what was said,” police spokesman Bo Forsman told newspaper VLT.
The 23-year-old’s father, Roland Jangestig, told the newspaper that the woman had now been informed of the deaths of her children.
“It feels terrible but it’s good that we’ve told her. We didn’t say exactly what happened but she knows she was the victim of a crime,” he said.
