Sweden puts the clocks forward

Sweden put the clocks forward an hour on Saturday night, as the country switched to summer time.

The clocks officially change at 2am on Sunday morning, which immediately became 3am.

Sweden introduced summer time in 1980, with the aim of giving lighter evenings in the summer period. Since 1997, all countries in the EU have changed to summer time on the last Sunday in March.

Clocks move back to winter time on the last Sunday in October, which this year falls on 26th.
