Yona Friedman
An avant-garde urban planning and architecture theorist, Budapest-born Friedman also creates animated films. For this fascinating exhibition, he collaborates with students of the Städelschul, to create an installation of multiple parts, including roofing structures made of wave-like bands and a large-scale wall relief comprised of styrofoam packaging items. Thirteen animated films from 1960, based on African fairy tales will also be shown.
