Norway takes legal action against Thor Steinar

Norway has taken far-right clothing brand Thor Steinar to court for allegedly abusing the Scandinavian country’s national symbols. Scandinavia is cherished by neo-Nazis as a source of Aryan purity.

The Nordic kingdom is claiming that its national symbols are being abused, and does not want its national identity to be used for the promotion of clothing worn by neo-Nazis.

“We want our national flag, a symbol of a democratic Norway, to no longer be connected with the right wing milieu,” Andreas Gaarder, Norwegian ambassador to Germany, told Der Tagesspiegel.

Social Democratic representative Sebastian Edathy welcomed Norway’s actions. He is enthusiastic about the Norwegian government’s active stand against Thor Steinar, and says he hopes they succeed against the controversial clothing brand.
