STORM

‘Tuva’ to bring stormy weather

Meteorologists in Sweden and Norway have both issued warnings ahead of the arrival of Tuva, a storm expected to hit both countries on Thursday evening.

Sweden’s meteorological agency SMHI has warned of high water levels in the Halland and Västra Götaland regions, with heavy rainfall forecast for the south and west of the country.

SMHI has also issued a storm warning for the Skagerrak and Kattegatt straits off the west coast of Sweden.

Strong winds are also expected along the east coast from Kalmar up to Stockholm.

Rain is forecast to give way to snow in most inland areas as the storm pushes northwards through the country.
